What are termites?

Termites are wood-destroying insects. Termites are eusocial insects that are classified at the taxonomic rank of infraorder Isoptera, or as epifamily Termitoidae within the cockroach order Blattodea.

What are stinging insects?

There are a variety of stinging insects in the US.  In the Omaha are, the ones of most concern are paper wasps, yellow jackets and hornets.

Are Spiders Dangerous?

Many people experience welts or bite marks from many different types of spiders.  Brown Recluse and Black Widow spiders are dangerous and may require medical attention.

What are Silverfish?

Silverfish are approximately ½ to ¾ inch in length and get their name from the silver color and scaled bodies. They feed on paper and paper products such as books and wallpaper.  They need a warm moist environment to survive.

How Do You Get Rid of Rodents?

What are Pantry Pests?

There are many types of pantry pest all with a similar goal, to consume items within the home.  Often, they are found in breakfast cereals, flour, grains, crackers, cake mixes and other types of stored foods.  They also feed on other items such as bird sees, ornamental corn and pet foods.  Common pests include, Indian meal moths, grain beetles, drugstore beetles, flour beetles and bean beetles.  Clues to infestation issues include finding moths or worms in and around storage areas and inside of cupboards.  They also can be found in open containers of food items.  Often, they are brought into the home from contaminated food products.

What are Moles?

Moles are a small mammal that lives underground, often beneath lawns and planted areas. They have fur; small eyes and ears and powerful claws used for digging transportation tunnels when they forage for food.  They can tunnel up to 100 feet each day and do so by lying on their side and pushing up to make a raised surface tunnels.  Their diet consists of grubs, worms and a variety of nuts.  Left untreated, moles will cause significant damage and can even kill plantings.  We at Pratt Pest Control have exterminated hundreds of moles over many years.  Left untreated, moles will cause significant damage and can even kill plantings.
