Asian Lady Beetles (Harmonia axyridis) are continuous trespassers amid the fall or winter and are easily recognized by their spotted bodies and the large dark “W” on the thorax behind the head. They frequently show up in shades of yellow, orange and red.  The males often have no spots.

Asian lady beetles become a nuisance pest in cooler months as they may show up in large numbers, looking for warmer environments such as homes and commercial buildings.

Are Asian Lady Beetles Dangerous?

Asian lady beetles pose no threat to humans or animals although people may feel harmless “bites”.
