Cockroaches are very common in the US and have been around for thousands of years. They are very resilient and can be difficult to manage without a treatment program.
Common Cockroaches Found in the US:
German Cockroach: Brown in color with dark stripes on their sides. They are typically ½ to 5/8 inches long.
Oriental Cockroach: Bigger than the German Cockroach, the size can reach up the 1 ½ inches long. They are usually black in color also but can be red in color.
American Cockroaches: American cockroaches are oval in shape and the adults are approximately 2 inches in length.
Are They Dangerous?
Medical studies have shown that cockroaches carry many kinds of pathogens that are harmful to humans. This can result in allergic reactions and asthma in children.
